This post is dedicated to CSI fans everywhere.
Except fans of CSI Miami and CSI New York. Any person who watches those shows and genuinely enjoys them is, as of a week ago, a disappointment to me, my family, science, and the art of cinematography.
Let's start with CSI Miami. Although the show is beautifully filmed and edited, the story lines and characters leave a bad taste in my mouth. Oh and the dialogue! Even an entire episode in French would still make me feel sad.
CSI Miami could be tolerable if Horatio actually looked at people when he talked to them. He starts EVERY SINGLE LINE hunched over and looking at the ground, which is infuriating and annoying. And really creepy. If you think I'm being ridiculous, just watch one entire episode and you'll find yourself overwhelmed with cheesy one-liners and over-the-top drama and...well, Horatio.
CSI New York:
I have absolutely nothing positive to say...
This is the one that people seem to love the most, which frightens me. This show is the reason why I have so little faith in mankind. A show about crime investigation focuses less on the investigation (most of the time we have no idea what is going on) than on the sappy love interests going on in the office. And the cinematography gives me motion sickness. The neverending quest to be hip and edgy via sudden zooms and fast cuts is reason enough to boycott the show.
What bothers me most are the characters. Each NY character is a more attractive double of the LV characters, and seems to be in love with at least one co-worker. And they are desperately unconvincing as scientists. Are we really supposed to believe Gary Sinise is not only NOT a creep, but a straight-laced and intelligent enforcer of the law? Don't make me laugh.
The other CSIs make me laugh. It's like watching a bunch of former models try to solve crime. They stare at the bodies with puckered lips and furrowed brows in a concentrated effort to not only locate the fake evidence on the correct body part, but to remember how to pronounce those big sciency words and in what order.
Simply put, CSI New York is a destroyer of souls and the bane of my existence. And the knowledge that this show is the kind of junk the average Drama T.V. fan fawns all over makes me afraid to go outside and make new friends.

My Friend Bora
I was recently requested by a good friend to dedicate a post to her awesomeness.
The nerve! This is awesome BERRIES, not awesome EVERYONE ELSE. puh.
However, since I am one of those one in a million types...the type of friend that lights up a room when I walk in causing angels to sing from the heavens, I will dedicate this post to Bora.

Here is a haiku I wrote:
She also likes American Gladiator, which is pretty cool.

Awesomeberries Introduce: GeographyHelper
This post is to inform you of another post. I have a new website/blog specifically for geography and travel-type information and discussions. It is not even close to done, but if you care you are welcome to look at it. :)
Click on this: www.geographyhelper.com/geolady. If you can't click on it, copy and paste. Pretty easy. Today's special topic is *drumroll* Saint Patrick's Day! SURPRISE!
In the future the blog will have interesting travel info as well as maps and geography tips. Hopefully, if all goes according to plan, the forum will be a great spot where people can ask and answer questions about where things are and what to expect when you go there. If you have any special topics you are interested in or ideas for the blog, let me know and I will make it happen! Well, Nate will probably make it happen. I'll just type stuff.

Newness R Us
So we are all moved in to our new house. We are such adults! The painting and the 400+ projects are not done, but all our stuff has a home. Well most of it. So when we take pictures, I'll post them HERE for all to see!
Hugo took a trip to the groomer yesterday because he smelled BAD. Our directions for the groomer included the following: Bathe, brush, no trimming, no shaving, nothing else. What we got was the following: Bathe, brush, trimming hair we didn't want trimmed, shaved ears, nail grinding.
So now he looks like a creature from Star Trek. Or like Buddy the earless goat. We can't help but laugh at him every time we see him and I think he's beginning to catch on. You can see the sadness and shame in his eyes. HE KNOWS. But he's still sweet and cute and we try not to laugh in his face. Plus he smells good. That's all we really wanted.

Hello everybody.
My name is Nate.
And this is a blog.
And by definition a blog is: A frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and Web links.
I had a personal thought earlier.
"Tell everybody about yourself."
And by everybody, I would assume the thought meant you.
The reader.
So, here goes.
Like I said earlier, my name is Nate.
I work in IT.
This is how I make my living.
I should probably look like this.

But I don't.
Yet.
If I continue down the path I'm on though, it's possible.
I think this rocks.
I am working on a half finished movie/internet experiment.
Here's the trailer.
Hopefully we will finish it this year.
When I'm not being a nerd, I take pictures.

I like to play music in all forms.
I have poor grammar.
I have a hard time transferring my thoughts to paper some times.
And I have a wife who is awesome.
And a dog who is awesome.
That is all for now.
Thank you for your time.

Freaks of Nature
I thought it would be fun to show our viewers how amazing, beautiful, and utterly ridiculous the natural world is.
Instead, I've compiled a small list of the Freaks and the Misunderstood. The Berrys are huge fans of animals, especially ugly ones. Here are some of our favorites and the reasons why:
#1: The Blobfish
I don't think anyone knows why this thing exists,
but it sure is fun to look at.
#2: The Komondor/Hungarian Sheepdog
It looks like a mop. And I want one.
#3. The Proboscis Monkey
A mix between Squidward and Gonzo.
#4. English Bulldog
Ok, it's not really a freak of nature, but bulldogs are really ugly. But unlike the blobfish, they are ugly in a ridiculously cute way.
Nate's next goal in life: Adopt a bulldog just like this one.
#4. Star-nosed mole
Do I need a reason for this thing to be on the list?
Just look at it. It's horrible.
#5. Tan hedgehogs
I know that's not very nice, but they certainly are freaks of nature. I have just one question for these guys:
Why?
#6 Ugly Dog
So at first I didn't think this was real, but unfortunately I was wrong. Somebody owns this dog and is keeping it alive.
I'd be afraid that it would try to eat my brains at night.

#7. Ugly cat
I don't know what happened to this cat,
but it couldn't have been good.
#8: Sloth
We love sloths. This one couldn't be happier to be sitting in that box.
For those of you who may have seen Return to Oz:
Is it just me or does this sloth look like a Wheeler?
